Celebrating Mini-Holland in Waltham Forest
We're proud to be London’s premiere cycling destination this September with the announcement that the borough will be hosting two leading industry events and celebrating the opening of our first Mini-Holland scheme.
Orford Road opening celebrations
We're delighted that our Walthamstow Village scheme is almost complete and will be officially opened on Monday 14 September 2015.
To celebrate, we've arranged a fun-filled community event in partnership with London Cycle Campaign (LCC) for local residents to enjoy on Monday 14 September 3pm to 6pm, Orford Road, Walthamstow, E17.
Activities include:
- The official ribbon cutting by Leader of Waltham Forest Council, Cllr Chris Robbins
- London Cycling Mechanics
- Music and entertainment
- Bike Try Out Zone
- Local business stands, selling food, drink and much more
- LCC and Space for Cycling information stand
- Mini-Holland Programme information point.
London Cycle Show 2015
This year we are proud hosts of the London Cycling Show 2015 on Tuesday 15 September. Hosted in partnership with Landor LINKS the London Cycling Show is an annual industry event featuring a range of guest speakers, case studies, panel discussion and exhibitions on the latest cycling infrastructure, products and projects.
The inaugural Cycle Planning Awards 2015
This inaugural Cycle Planning Awards is organised by the Active Travel Network and Local Transport Today who have developed these Awards to acknowledge and reward those that have excelled in design and delivery.
The Cycle Planning Awards will showcase the best practice examples from local authorities, and innovation in products and infrastructure design.
Held on Monday 14 September, it will be the first event of its kind and feature a range of categories, including two Council-driven awards open to Waltham Forest schools in the categories of: ‘Active Travel’ and a ‘‘Design a Sign Competition’.
